Triggering the Miracle Overflow of God

Rev Dr Paul Dawson
24-02-2019

God created the world out of nothing. If you understand God, you will see something out of nothing.

Unless you understand this God, you will see God. Otherwise, you will only see limitedness. Where ever God is, the devil is not there.

We are living in the age of grace. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

1) God is a liberal giver

James 1:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

God always gives. What ever He takes is what ever He has given you. God is a giver.

Today, many people are not receiving. The more you receive, the more God is happy.

God gives liberally. Liberal means abundant, plentiful, overflow, not according to your needs.

Philippians 4:19 New King James Version (NKJV)
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2) God is a free giver

Romans 8:32 New King James Version (NKJV)
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

God did not create His children to be failures. He created us to be super success.

Many people are not sure if God will give breakthrough or restoration.

God gives all things.

James 1:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

God gives good and perfect things.

Psalm 37:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God gives you the desires of your heart.

1 John 3:22 New King James Version (NKJV)
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

God gives whatsoever. Whatsoever you ask, you will receive from God.

Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Look at the Word, and not experiences, our mind and what others are telling.

Numbers 13:33 New King James Version (NKJV)
33 There we saw the [a]giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like[b] grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

But Joshua (Numbers 17:18) and Caleb (Numbers 14:24) were full of the spirit.

John 15:16 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

God is ready to give whatsoever.

John 16:23-24 New King James Version (NKJV)
23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Matthew 7:7-8 New King James Version (NKJV)
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

1 Kings 17:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

Matthew 6:19-21 New King James Version (NKJV)
Lay Up Treasures in Heaven
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

After all the praying and asking, why is it that the God of the Bible is not manifesting?

1 John 3:22 New King James Version (NKJV)
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Keep His commandments.

Do those things that are pleasing in His sight, and not pleasing in our sight. God expects you to do things that are pleasing in His sight with His power--the Holy Spirit.

John 15:16 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

No man can come to the Father except that He is God.

Bear fruit.

The fruit which you bear should remain. It is a continuous process.

Psalm 37:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Understanding the ways of God and doing the will of God moves the hand of God.

John 11:41-42 New King James Version (NKJV)
41 Then they took away the stone [a]from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

John 8:29 New King James Version (NKJV)
29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”

That's the secret of Jesus.

It is not your education, your family background that will make you great. What will make you great is the power of God.

1 Chronicles 29:12 New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.

To make you great is in His hands.

2 Corinthians 5:9-11 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Judgment Seat of Christ
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

Labour to be acceptable of Him. Therefore, we must definitely all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. You should receive the things done in your body, whether good or bad.

God is interested in eternity. He is concentrating on the forever and ever.

But God Meant It For Good (Genesis 50:20)

God's love brings hope. We are channels of that hope.

But adversity robs us of our future.

Look at the God of hope. The Lord is with us. He is for us. Our Father remains as a good, good Father.

Joseph's Predicament:
1) Daddy's Pet (Genesis 37:3)

Genesis 37:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.

2) The Pit (Genesis 37:24)

Genesis 37:24 New King James Version (NKJV)
24 Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.

3) To Potiphar (Genesis 39:1-5)

Genesis 39:1-5 New King James Version (NKJV)
Joseph a Slave in Egypt
39 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2 The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did [a]to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put [b]under his authority. 5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

4) To the Prison (Genesis 39:20-23)

Genesis 39:20-23 New King James Version (NKJV)
20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison. 21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave[a] him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. 23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under [b]Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.

5) To the Palace (Genesis 41:37-48)

Genesis 41:37-48 New King James Version
Joseph’s Rise to Power
37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be [g]over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” 45 And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name [h]Zaphnath-Paaneah. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. So Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46 Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. 47 Now in the seven plentiful years the ground brought forth [i]abundantly. 48 So he gathered up all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities; he laid up in every city the food of the fields which surrounded them.

He went on to trust God. He was favoured by the Lord and favoured by the people who owned him.

1) Take a Pause:
Take a pause before you start spewing out the anger. As you pause, you breathe and look up to the Lord. Otherwise we will feel bitter and unfair. The Lord holds your life in His hands. When you are in the pit, take a pause and look up to Jesus as He is our only hope.

2) Take a Praise
In good times and bad times, praise God. Lord is still God even if the circumstances around us change.

3) Take a knee and Pray
As we bring our prayer to the Lord, we are saying to Him that "Lord, You are the only one who could bring us out of this situation."

A lot of times we blame. It's time to shift the blame and go to prayer.

4) Take a rest in His Presence
Like King David when he lost everything (1 Samuel 30), he strengthened himself in the Lord. Only God's strength and grace will sustain us. Strengthen by worship, by prayer and by people who will speak the same language and not condemn you.

5) Take Practical steps
If you sit in your pit, you will be depressed.

Be like Joseph. Do with what you can with what's in your hand. Do something. When you are down, don't stay down. God is ever good. He will guide you. Continue to press on. Keep going to church. Keep serving. Don't let bitterness tie you down. Keep trusting Him.

6) Trust the Lord will Pull you up

7) Take another praise
In adversity whether it is physical or spiritual, remember the Lord is in control. Dwell under  the shadow of the Almighty so that His will be done, and not my way.

Step up and walk in His promises. Bow down and pursue God. Let go of your praise. Praise the Lord! Let the Lord take over. You are precious in God's sight.

God will mean it for good. What lesson is in it for me to learn?

Romans 8:28 New King James Version (NKJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Love God. Praise God and pull down the enemy's stronghold.

We have hope in a good God that we love. God is ever so good.

As we look to the Lord as Joseph looked to the Lord, God molds us.

Stand right in the middle of God's love and receive His goodness. Don't let the chains of darkness bind us down.

God is very good. God is ever faithful.

Do what you can do and leave the rest to God.

No chain can hold you when you are in Christ. He has broken every chain and opened every door when you are in Christ Jesus.

Praying in Faith and Authority

1) We are His royal priesthood.

1 Peter 2:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

1 Peter 2:5 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the Great High Priest.

Jesus ever lives to intercede for His people. We stand in the gap between the living and the dead.

This is our primary call.

Coming to that place to surrender our lives totally to the Lord.

Ezekiel 22:30 New King James Version (NKJV)

30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Coming to that place of alignment, we pray in faith. There is no doubt that God will answer. Rise up in faith and declare by faith, God will answer.

If we are not abiding, we do not understand the heart of the Father. When we come into the presence of God and search our hearts and align to the heartbeat of God, it brings us to a place that Jesus is interceding.

John 15:4 New King James Version (NKJV)

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

When we come into that place, the Holy Spirit will travail. When we are align spirit, soul and body with God, we are able to have His desire. That is God-given.

Isaiah 55:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me [a]void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God's voice comes naturally. It is like a prompting. Sometimes we miss it.

The Holy Spirit gives us empowerment and encouragement. He lifts us up.

What is the hindrance in my own life that I need to lay down?

Abide. Come to that place of resting in His presence. What a privilege to be called into His courts.

2) We are co-heirs with Christ.

Romans 8:17 New King James Version (NKJV)

17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Whatever has been promised to Jesus belongs to us.

1 Peter 1:5 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Hebrews 1:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the [b]worlds;

Psalm 2:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

Ask the Lord for the soul of the people of our land.

As sonship, we have this inheritance that is eternal and everlasting.

The enemy blocks us from seeing this eternal inheritance. Our mindset is always on the temporal.

If we are His priests, we have this authority to stand in the gap for the nations and the peoples.

Based on these two foundations, we are His priests and we are co-heirs of His kingdom.

What is our vision and passion? Is anything too hard for God?

What kind of prayers am I praying if I have kingdom authority and a great inheritance from the King of kings?

Matthew 6:33 New King James Version (NKJV)

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The battle for souls of men starts with our belief system.

Isaiah 49:1 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Servant, the Light to the Gentiles
49 “Listen, O coastlands, to Me,
And take heed, you peoples from afar!
The Lord has called Me from the womb;
From the [a]matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.

Jeremiah 1:5 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified[a] you;
I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Psalm 6 New King James Version (NKJV)

A Prayer of Faith in Time of Distress
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. On [a]an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.
6 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
2 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
3 My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?

4 Return, O Lord, deliver me!

Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?

6 I am weary with my groaning;

[b]All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
7 My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.

8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;

For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
10 Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.

We agonise with God. We want a breakthrough. And we ask, "How long more?!"

The love of God gave David the strength to go through. That helped him in faith and in love.

For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. (Psalm 6:8) Charles Spurgeon in "Treasury of David" calls it "liquid prayer."

As David travailed and waited, a shift happened. (Psalm 6:9-10)

Just agonise and battle through! We need to come back to pray in tears. "Lord, forgive me! Have mercy!"

Let it be birthed from within. And change happens. It starts with us. When we affect the change in society, great things happen.

Take it to the Lord in prayer. When we align our hearts with God, we are so much with what God wants to do. God will birth forth His plans and purposes.

It is all about Jesus.

As we take care of His Kingdom, He will take care of our lives.

Remember His Father. Link with His heart. God wants us to be so much a part of what He wants to do. Know Him and believe Him for greater things.
