Fatherhood & Sonship Part 2

The whole topic of fatherhood and sonship is about how to build God's house.

The key is not in hard work. Children are the keys to building God's house. The true sons and daughters of God are the key to building God's house.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)

When children take over the family's business, that business begins to grow and becomes very powerful and impacts the world.

God sets individuals in families.

God has a purpose for setting you in your family.

For many Christians, we are ashamed of who we are. We don't really understand who we are in God.

Your family gives you your identity. That's the importance of genealogy in the Bible. Without it, there's no context in Jesus.

It is important to know our ancestry to understand who we are.

Your family gives you your identity.

We see Christians roaming about as individuals and not belonging to the local church.

That's why it is so important to understand your true family.

Everything is joined together. Then it serves a purpose.

Be part of a local church.

Because of a fallout, best friends have become enemies and they are no longer joined.

Most of us want to be no. 1.

But God has set us in our position and we serve a very important function in this house.

The love of God motivates you. The joy of the Lord is your strength.

Serve with a mentality of building instead of just serving.

A true son and daughter of God builds the house.

There's a lot of conflicts in ministries because of territorial mentality.

Does the zeal for God's house and His people consume you?

The more focused you are on self, the bigger your problems are.

Just like Absalom, son of David. He had a servant mentality. He was not a true son of David.

This is our church.

This is family.

You are to uphold the head. You are to be linked to the head.

We should always cover our parents and honour our parents.

A true son will lay down his life to protect the sheep.

Sometimes God will put you in a ministry where you find difficulty in submitting to authority.

God is after your character. He is working in you something wonderful.

God has called this church for a particular vision.

As sons and daughters, we uphold and establish the vision that God has given us.

Jesus fathered the 12 disciples.

Unfortunately, one of them was not a true son. He had his own vision for Jesus.

Absalom was very welcoming of people to the city of David. But he had an agenda to build himself and his own kingdom rather than the kingdom of his father, David.

True sons and daughters will share their hearts about what's bothering them. It is okay for them to share with the leadership.

If you are not true sons and daughters of God, you need to repent.

There is a difference between perfectionism and a spirit of excellence.

Perfectionism is unhealthy.

Spirit of excellence means you want to strive to be better.

Together we begin to build God's house.

Son vs servant (slave):
Even though he came out of slavery of Egypt, Joshua was always a son of Moses.

True sons and daughters in their hearts will pioneer wonderful things in this house.
