Genesis 13:14-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your [a]descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

18 Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by [b]the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord.

Look at the cross of Christ. We have seen and understood why Jesus sacrificed Himself. We can also know His feelings.

Yet His sacrifice at the cross is not for us to just know, see and understand.

God has given us the greatest gift--His grace.

This gift is given to you and your descendants.

Our next generation are the leaders of tomorrow.

We are a multi-generational church.

Our strength is family.

Why didn't God give just Galilee or Canaan or Malaysia to Abraham?

He looks at things without borders.

Our God is great.

Abraham's nephew, Lot, has just left him. He valued Lot greatly. He was deeply saddened.

God is reminding us that sometimes we look at the sad moments. But we do not stop at this point.

Your feelings and faith are two different things.

There may be sad moments that make us unhappy. Do not mistaken faith to be always smooth and always happy.

Many a time our own faith is mixed with despair and darkness.

But God is telling us to look at things differently.

That blessing to Abraham is also for Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and his descendants.

Receive this blessing for our next generation.

Without faith and insight, then maybe the grace of God ends with this generation.

Do not stop in the wilderness.

We know the cross. Yet we have not entered into the heart of Christ.

Life's journey is a process of growth.

Our next step is not to continue in the path that we have walked these past 40 years.

We can see the obstacles before us and we have to overcome them.

Fear not! God has called us not to stop at the banks of the Jordan River.

God says He will bless you and your descendants.

Nurture our younger generation. Who doesn't love their children?

Thank God that He has given eyes to see without borders and limitations.

Look at the omnipotent and omnipresent works of our Heavenly Father.

How do we fulfil the dreams that we see?

Arise! We have to arise!

Just like God called Joshua to be strong and courageous.

In the vision and calling of God, what is there to fear?

The key to go and build is to get up and get going.

God's style of leadership is to lead and give authority and blessing.

As parents, we receive the greatest glory and honour.

Our children endure the battles and suffer bruises. But they come back and say, "It is finished."

As parents, we say, "Well done, good and faithful one."

God gives parents the responsibility to build up a stronger next generation.

Find joy in the path of God. Just like God calling Abraham to arise and walk the land, let us arise and walk the length and breadth of the land that is before us.

We can only plant the seed and water the plant but God gives the increase. The harvest belongs to God.

Abraham moved his tent. He moved his home. It is not about simply moving house.

For Abraham, it was a change; it was a transformation.

Hebron means an alliance. Abraham formed an alliance, a fellowship, a true relationship. He built an altar to the Lord.

Relationship is about friendship. It is about building and encouraging one another. The act of loving one another finds favour in the eyes of God.

Mamre represents victory.

Moving tent represents unity in healthy relationships.

The altar is a signal and a reminder that God is faithful and that we remain faithful to the vision that God has given us.
