Ephesians 5:25 New King James Version (NKJV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,

That is a supreme act of sacrifice.

The Lord Jesus loves us.

We are His church.

He says, "I am the way, the truth and the life."

Our Jesus is the saviour of the world. Our Jesus died on the cross. Our Jesus rose from the dead.

All of us are selfish people.

When we are filled with the agape love of God, that makes all the difference.

God is love.

Genesis 1:1NIV
In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.

El is the word for God (deity);
Elohim is a plurality of persons within the Godhead.

1 John 1:1 New International Version (NIV)
The Incarnation of the Word of Life
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

1 John 4:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

God is love.

He who does not know God does not know love.

John 1:1 New International Version (NIV)
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In John 14 and John 16, Jesus spoke of the Father and of the Son sending the Holy Spirit.

There is a perfect love relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and is to be mirrored in the lives of His people.

God is Love. (1 John 4:8)

God is relational within Himself. (Genesis 1:1)

Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:25)

It is not all about human efforts.

God has to be in it.

God is good.

The language of love is not just about feeling or the mind.

The language of love is in the will and in action.

What is Love? (Agape) (1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13)

-Love is kind. (v4)

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

When we are kind to people we love, we have a tender heart.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill

-Love protects. (v7)

The world must not run by logic alone.

The world must run by the love of God.

Learn to speak life and blessings.

-Love is patient. (v4)

Patience must be tested. Love must also be tested.

Your love must be shown to people who are not easy to love.

-Love is not self seeking. (v5)

All of us are selfish by nature.

Jesus first, others second, me last.

Song of Solomon says love is stronger than death.

Don't go to our own self-pity party.

Honour and love Jesus until our last breath.

-Love keeps no record of wrongs. (v5)

Let's start with forgiveness.

Just as God in Christ forgave you, you release forgiveness.

With God's help, I choose to forgive.

Don't buy into the devil's lie about your entitlement.

If we love God, we must love God in our provisions.

Faith, hope and love.

Why is love the greatest?

There is no due date for love.

When Jesus comes again, faith gives way to soght.

When Jesus comes again, hope gives way to fulfilment -- New Jerusalem, new bodies.

Love carries on into eternity. Love is not temporal. Love has no due date.

God is love.

Proverbs 21:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Lord Considers the Heart
21 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord,
Like the [a]rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.

Lord, change our hearts.

Help us to think about You and others more.
