Eternal Life (Heaven) is a Free Gift from God

DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE that you are going to be with God in Heaven?

IF GOD WERE TO ASK YOU, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” what would you say?

Did you know that the Bible tells how you can know for sure that you have eternal life and will go to be with God in Heaven?

The Bible says, “…the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

No amount of personal effort, good works, or religious deeds can earn a place in Heaven for you.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Eternal life is a free gift from God. We cannot earn eternal life and we don’t deserve eternal life but God wants to give eternal life to you.

But man cannot receive eternal life because man struggles with sin. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) And “the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23) Sin is something that we do and think that is against God’s principles and includes such things as lying, lust, cheating, deceit, evil thoughts, immoral behavior, and more.

Because of sin, we can never be perfect. And because of sin, man cannot save himself.

However, in spite of our sin, God is loving and merciful. “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) And He says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

But the same Bible which tells us that God loves us, also tells us that God is just. Therefore, He must punish sin but He also wants to love man.

We have a problem. God solved this problem for us in the Person of Jesus Christ. “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus)… and the Word (Jesus) was God. And the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” (John 1:1,14)

Jesus Christ came to earth and lived a sinless life, but while on earth, what did He do? The Bible tells us that “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

God sacrificed Jesus to take away all our sin“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Christ the Son died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in Heaven.

TODAY, JESUS CHRIST OFFERS US THAT ETERNAL LIFE (HEAVEN) AS A FREE GIFT.

And we can receive that eternal life through faith. Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon Christ alone and what He has done rather than in what you or I have done to get us into Heaven.

“…Believe (trust) on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:31)

Faith is just to say “Yes” and invite Jesus into our hearts.

Christ in us is the hope of glory.

DO YOU HAVE CHRIST IN YOU?

The question that God is asking you now is would you like to receive the gift of eternal life?

Transfer your trust from what you have been doing to what Jesus Christ has done for you on His cross.

Accept Jesus Christ as Saviour. Open the “door” to your heart and invite Him in.

Receive Jesus Christ as Lord. Give Him the “driver’s seat” and “controls” of your life.

Repent. Be willing to turn from anything that is not pleasing to Him. He will reveal His will to you as you grow in your relationship with Him.

All that you have to do is to pray a simple prayer to transfer your trust from yourself to Jesus Christ.

“Lord Jesus, thank You for Your gift of eternal life. I know I’m a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But You loved me so You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. I now trust in You alone for eternal life and repent of my sin. Please take control as Lord of my life. Thank you so much! Amen.”

  1. Hi there, Romans 3:26 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord".
Most Christian Churches teach that Jesus holds that free gift of eternal life in His hands and you must take that gift from His hands in order for you to have eternal life.
But that is called stealing. And don't be deceived, no thief will have eternal life.
That life is a free gift of God and you cannot receive that life through faith, which is works, or doing something.

  2. You said, “Eternal life is a free gift from God. We cannot earn eternal life and we don’t deserve eternal life but God wants to give eternal life to you.”

You see, if God wants to give you eternal life, then why doesn't He gives it to you, after all it is supposed to be a free gift ?

Does He wait till you do something, like snatching it from His hands ?

  3. You said, “But man cannot receive eternal life because man struggles with sin.”

Yes, every man struggles with sin, but eternal life is supposed to be a FREE GIFT.
If you need to do something for a free gift, then it is NOT a free gift anymore, you have earned it.
