The priests were totally devotes to the tabernacle.
There were also judges, seer (Samuel was a seer) and kings.
David was a man after God's heart. God called him when he was a child.
Not only was he a warrior and a king, David was a psalmist.
Greatness of Melchizedek Priesthood:
Melchizedek (in Hebrew) means:
Meleck
= King
Tzedek
= righteousness
The king of righteousness ruled over Salem (meaning peace).
Neither Melchizedek nor Jesus received their priesthood from ancestral inheritance.
Melchizedek's priesthood is a prophetic symbol of the eternal priesthood of Christ, which never ends.
Melchizedek is not the pre-incarnate manifestation of Jesus (Hebrews 7:3). He is like the Son of God, but not the same as Him.
Jesus accomplished every redemptive works on Feast dates.
God moves according to His calendar. Feasts are divine appointments God calls you to meet Him today.
Discern the timing of God's timing.
The Old Testament is God dealing with Israel.
Abraham and Melchizedek:
Abraham had bread and wine communion with Melchizedek.
Jesus had break and wine communion with disciples.
We are spiritual Israel because we are grafted into the covenants of Israel.

The Levi collected a tenth from their brothers--the eleven tribes.
The writer of Hebrews is telling that Jesus is far greater than Melchizedek, Abraham, Joshua and Aaron.
The first covenant--the Mosaic covenant--has been abolished, not the Abrahamic covenant.

The priesthood of Jesus is of the order of Melchizedek, not Aaron.

Imperfection of Levitical Priesthood:
The Levitical priesthood was based on the Messianic law, which is holy and good, but weak and fleshy.
The law cannot offer complete and perfect access to God.
The law prepared people for a "better hope."
The law must be added because of transgressions.
The law was added as a tutor to lead people to Christ.
Levitical priests were mortal and themselves sinful.
Based on the yearly sacrifice of animal and shedding of its blood.
Superiority of Jesus' Priesthood:
Established by an oath. (Psalm 110:4)
Based on the promise of a New Covenant.
You and I are beneficiaries of the blood of Jesus today.
Christ is King and priest.
The problem with the Pharisees and Sadducees is that they ascribe to the oral
Torah.
When it comes to the Bible, it has to be the whole truth.
A little truth is dangerous.
It is true that the Jews killed Jesus.
In Acts 3:17, God says, "I will not charge you as a criminal. You will not be under a generational curse, provided you repent."
We serve a mighty, powerful God.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--the God of Israel--is our God.

Baptism of Jesus is symbolic transfer and consecration of John's priesthood in the order of Aaron to Jesus the eternal high priest in the order of Mechizedek.

1) On the day of atonement, golden lot for the Lord's goat never came up again, indicating God had not accepted their sacrifice.

How Jesus Fulfilled the Firstfruits Wave Offering:
1)
Jesus goes into seclusion (the grave) for 3 days and 2 nights. Then the
resurrection occurs.
2) Jesus, as our High Priest, now gathers the firstfruits harvest (those people who were resurrected and were seen around the town).
3) Jesus takes them and "waves" them before God in the Heavenly Temple.
4) Jesus can then be touched by the people. (John 20, John 21)
