The Jewish Perspectives of The End Times Part 1

We are His image bearers. When God gave us authority to rule over the planet, we were to function so that the will of heaven would be done on earth as it is on heaven. This is God’s purpose from the very beginning. Adam was to rule in the same way Jesus (Yeshua) functioned.

The fall was you could be the determiner of what is good and what is evil. This is how humanity has functioned to not to determine for ourselves to submit to the will of God. To follow Him is the right way and the good way and the path to light.

When we think of the beginning, when God created us in the garden it was perfect just the way it was. There were things or intentions that God had intended for us that had not yet been fulfilled before the fall. In God’s intentions, the rule was to extend across the globe i.e. to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth, and not just be confined to the garden of Eden. God intended to have a great variety of people living in different places across the planet in submission to the will of God and reflect the will of heaven on earth. Adam and Eve and their offsprings were to partake of the tree of life. But after the fall, God intervened and banished Adam and Eve and they would not partake of the tree of life i.e. to live forever. The first exile was not Israel from the land scattered to the ends of the earth. It was God locking access to the tree of life for all humanity.

God was going to use humanity to judge the serpent and the fallen angels. But that hadn’t happened either.

To step on someone’s head is to take the authority away.

God’s End Time purpose is to finally, once and for all, end all rebellion and the Lord would be King over the earth and every creature in the earth and below the earth would bow down before the Lord of lords and Kings of kings.

“I will send My Son who would be born of the seed of a woman to represent humanity to usher in My will on earth as it is on heaven.” The rule comes through the Messiah. He represents us. He is God’s appointed ruler. Yeshua is God’s appointed ruler. This is where Israel connects to the last days.

Israel enters into the picture. It is always the weak to overcome the powerful. Humanity to overcome Satan. Israel to overcome all the enemies of the world. Eg. David defeating Goliath. Only God gets the glory and the honour for bringing righteousness and justice back. God chooses the least of the nations to overcome the rebellion of all the other nations.

The final purposes of God represented the Word of God in a scroll that is sealed up until an appointed time and the final End Time purposes of God are released.

No one among rebellious sinful human beings is worthy to have the right to open the seal and the scroll.

The one who opens the scroll is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David.

Israel has been the least of the nations that God is using as His instruments to put an end to the rebellion of all the world.

When John sees the Lion, he sees the Lamb that has been slain. By His blood He has purchased us to be kings to reign over the earth.

The End is like the Beginning.

To understand what comes at the end, we have glimpses along the way through the Scriptures and the history of Israel.

We see certain patterns in the Scriptures that are repeated over and over again. The one who leads the rebellion is the anti-Christ. Eg. Nebuchadnezzar, Titus.

We try to piece the End Times puzzle together to understand how events unfold. We attempt to prepare ourselves by knowing what comes next.

Yeshua tells us some things that are coming.

We have to have spiritual discernment and wisdom so that we are not deceived. We have to be prepared. Now is our opportunity to press in to know God and to receive God’s wisdom and discernment so that we would be ready for what is coming next.

The one who is prepared is the one who knows his or her God.

It is more likely the disciple who has tuned his or her ear to what God is saying would be in a better position to be vessels that could hold the message to speak forth the message.

Proverbs 24:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 If you faint in the day of adversity,
Your strength is small.

Now is the time to address our fears. The one who endures to the end will be saved.

Do not be caught off-guard and be frightened.

Luke 21:28 New King James Version (NKJV)

28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

If you are fearful, God is not ashamed of you. Go to Him with your fear. Cast your anxiety upon Him. If anyone lacks courage, ask of God and He will give without reproof. God gives us the grace to go through whatever we’re facing when we need it.

What does it mean to be a watchman? In the ancient world, the first line of defence is the watchmen. They have to stay awake, stay focused and be vigilant. When the enemy comes, they are to sound the alarm. A watchman has to be focused on the vision and the task at hand.

You have to watching and listening to hear that the Spirit is saying. So let’s not be distracted and fall asleep.

We want to know when. And that’s the one thing we were told not to spend our time speculating. God’s ways are higher than our ways. Everything that is written about the End Times will be fulfilled exactly as is written in the book but not necessary the way we anticipated that it would be fulfilled.

John 7:41-43 New King James Version (NKJV)

41 Others said, “This is the Christ.”

But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?” 43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

Micah 5:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Coming Messiah

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting.”

Yeshua fulfilled Micah 5:2 but not the way they anticipated it would be fulfilled.

The opposite is true as well.

Study the Scriptures and ask for wisdom.

We are involved. We are His servants. We are ready. And we are diligently preparing for His return.

We know what’s coming. We can discern the signs of the times.

We have a responsibility to “hasten the day.” We are active participants. We follow the Lamb where ever He goes.

2 Peter 3:8-13 New King James Version (NKJV)

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward [a]us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

The Day of the Lord

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

By our submission to the will of God, we can hasten that day.
