Finding Your Identity and Start Living in the Kingdom of God

Rev Peter Tsukahira
01-12-2017 (3rd session)

The message of Israel leads us to the gospel of the kingdom.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Behaviour is rooted in identity.

When you enter into the kingdom of God by revelation, you can correctly identify God.

Who does God identify as you?

When you go to heaven, you are still going to be you.

You start being the real you now.

That's your key to eternal life.

You were made to be a particular person beloved by God.

"Who will I be to You forever? That's why I want to start being now."

When the kingdom comes, that's when the unbelievers will tell you.

That has to do with the honesty, integrity and truth that sets us free.

Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, was chosen before he was born. The younger one will serve the older one. When he was born, he held on to Esau's heel. Jacob = the supplanter

Esau was hairy. He was his father's favourite. He was a great hunter.

Jacob deceived his brother and got his birthright.

He ended up marrying the wrong woman.

Inheritance goes with the identity.

He's lost. He didn't know what he is and who he is.

But he's a fighter. He fought with God all night. "You're not leaving until you bless me."

God told him, "You're a prince with God. You're a man of honour. Your name is Israel."

He became one of the great fathers of our faith.

In the New Testament, there was Simon. He always had to be first. "You are the son of the living God." Jesus said he had correctly identified Him. "You're not Simon. You're Peter. You are a powerful pillar of strength. I will build a community and the gates of hell will not prevail." (Matthew 16)

Matthew 16:13-19New King James Version (NKJV)
Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ
13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed[d] in heaven.”

He's not impulsive or unstable anymore. He's a rock. (Acts)

Finding your identity in the kingdom of God is essential.

"I made a solemn vow to Him and Him alone."

Start living the real you in the kingdom of God now.

Jeremiah:
Jeremiah was assigned as a prophet against his nation.

Jeremiah 1:5New King James Version (NKJV)
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

King David:
Psalm 139:13,16New King James Version (NKJV)
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

His primary gift from God was to be a warrior. His life had already been planned by God on a daily basis before he lived that life.

The Apostle Paul:
Galatians 1:15New King James Version (NKJV)
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,

Before he became the ultra Jewish jihadi, before he was struck down by God's angel on the road to Damascus, before he became the greatest apostle to the Gentiles, he realised it was already planned.

1) It is obvious God has two classes of servants: elite designer servants and the rest of us;

2) What's true about them is true about us.

Are we all designed/handcrafted by God before we were born?

What's true about them is true about you.

Before you were born, God designed/handcrafted you. He made you unique in all eternity. You were designed for God's plan and purpose, and you were designed in love.

Like parents load and pile all of their dreams, ambitions, expectations on the tiny shoulders on their children.

If you survive this ordeal, then you make it to school and your teachers and schoolmates will drill into you what's it like to be popular/unpopular, who your friends are/aren't, etc.

If you survive this, then you move on to national service, then the marketplace, company, society, culture and all these gets pushed into you.

When crisis happens, we ask, "Where is God?"

We begin to turn our life into His direction.

Many are called but few are chosen.

Greek word ekklesia means called out. And that is the church.

Who is God?

How can I serve Him?

How to pray?

He loves it when you pray. He is a prayer answering God.

Now you are having a relationship with God.

You come to a revelation that this god is more than just your king, saviour, best friend; that this God is your creator. He designed you before you were born. Now you know him. You go to him through prayer.

"What was in Your mind when you made and designed me?"

"What's Your plan for me?"

God know what's in your heart. But you are not willing or ready to do the plan. He chooses, out of love, to be silent and tp be invisible.

Before you come to the altar and pray to Him in the privacy of your own heart, in your prayer room, bring Him a precious gift, something non-returnable. Whatever He says to you, you will get it done. Make a solemn "I swear" vow to God.

We have dreams, expectations, hope. We want to change and save the world.

Very often God will say something so insignificant and you go, "Me?"

You promised, right?

Start making it your business to do that particular, insignificant thing.

Whatever it is that God tells you to do.

And you'll start to love doing it.

Out of you comes an ability. Things happen. That's pretty cool. That's your gift. Every person is designed to have a spiritual gift.

Your gift is part of God's design.

Improve, discipline yourself.

While you are using your gift, God does a miracle on the life of another person.

That's called your anointing. Your anointing is holy. It is part of your identity.

Whether you are a housewife, an engineer, an accountant etc.

Use your gift for God and God will anoint it and change lives.

Your gift produces fruit.

God is going to ask you about the plan that He has when He designed and created you before you were born.

"What about My plan? What about My dream? What about that? Did you do that?"

Make it your business to do that plan--whether it is small or big.

We all want more, more and more. But on the day of judgment, we stand before Him and say that "my responsibility was very small."

Go to God. Make up your mind.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."
